High-speed police chase ends in several charges for Kennett man

KENNETT, MO (KFVS) -

A Kennett man is facing several charges after leading police on a high-speed chase late Tuesday night, according to Kennett Police Department.

Police tried to stop Cedric K. Bell around 11:20 p.m. for a traffic violation. Instead of stopping, Bell fled east on First Street.

During the chase, Bell drove down Highway 412 for about two miles before going back into the city limits of Kennett, according to police.

Officers say Bell then drove down several streets before crashing into a curb and hitting a police car.

Bell was arrested at that time and has been charged with felony resisting by fleeing, driving while intoxicated and several traffic violations.

Kennett officers were assisted at the scene by the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri Highway Patrol.
