MOUNT VERNON, IL (KFVS) -

Four people are facing charges in connection with a robbery investigation.

Deandra Rudd, 23; Terrance Williams, 23; David Weatherall, 24; and DeAndre Rudd, 22; were charged in connection with robberies.

According to the Mount Vernon Police Department, on Dec. 8 at 10:31 p.m. officers responded to an armed robbery of the Huck's Store on Fairfield Road.

They say two men robbed the store the left in a truck.

Patrol officers found the abandoned truck a short time later.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department contacted the vehicle's owner and say the vehicle was taken during a robbery at the owner's home.

Police say at 12:43 a.m. the Biggie's Store on Interstate 57 at Route 161 was robbed at gunpoint.

A Mt. Vernon police officer said he saw the suspect vehicle from the Biggie's armed robbery pull into a home on South 18th Street in Mt. Vernon and several people go in a home.

The Mt. Vernon/Jefferson County High Risk Team was activated to respond to the home.

Police say they got a search warrant from Jefferson County States Attorney Doug Hoffman.

Four people and a child walked out of the home at the beginning of the search.

According to police, a fifth person with a small child refused to leave the home.

After about three hours, police say the last person left the home with the child and was taken into custody.

During a search of the home, police say they found stolen merchandise, money, two guns and ammunition.

They say the investigation is ongoing with final charges to be determined by the Jefferson County States Attorney's Office.
