PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

The sheriff's office says a man was injured after a dump truck crash Tuesday in McCracken County, Kentucky.

Around 1:20 p.m., McCracken County deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover collision on Lovelaceville road at the intersection of Skylark Drive.

The investigations shows that Richard Beyer, 37, was traveling south bound on Lovelaceville road in his loaded dump truck. He topped a hill and there was a passenger vehicle stopped in the road waiting for traffic to clear so she could make a left hand turn.

Beyer said that he took the ditch to avoid striking the passenger car.

When he exited the road he struck the roadway culvert for Skylark drive. This caused the dump truck to overturn onto its side and dump gravel into a yard near the intersection.

Beyer was taken to an area hospital by a family member for treatment of minor injuries.

Also assisting on scene was McCracken County DES, Mercy Ambulance service and the Lone Oak Fire department.

The highway was down to one lane to allow for the cleanup of the collision.
