Carbondale PD investigate beating of victim

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Carbondale, Illinois police are investigating after they say someone was beat up on Sunday night.

On Monday at around 8:20 p.m. on Dec. 7, the City of Carbondale Police Department responded to the 400 block of West College Street to a report of a beating.

During the the investigation officers learned the victim was walking south through the yards between West College Street and West Freeman Street when he was approached by two black males.

According to the police report, both suspects beat up the victim and fled northbound on foot.

Police say the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

One of the suspects was described as a black male, approximately 6', 170 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with his hood up and a short haircut.

Police say the investigation into the incident is continuing.
