Paducah Police Department Drug and Vice Enforcement officers say they seized between $10,000-$12,000 in marijuana on Friday afternoon.

Gregory L. Hixon, 31, of West Paducah, Kentucky faces charges of trafficking in marijuana (eight ounces to five pounds) and third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Anthony M. Bryant, 20, of Paducah, Kentucky faces charges of complicity of traffick in marijuana (second offense), trafficking in marijuana (more than five pounds) with a firearm enhancement and receiving stolen property

Detectives bought a half-pound of marijuana from Gregory L. Hixon, and minutes later, marked police units stopped the vehicle he was driving at Freidman Lane and Hinkleville Road.

Hixon and his passenger, Anthony M. Bryant, were arrested. At the time of his arrest, police say Bryant had a small amount of marijuana in the pocket of his coat.

Detectives continued their investigation and gathered enough evidence to obtain search warrants for Hixon and Bryant's homes.

According to police, at Hixon's home on Indian Mound Trail, the detectives found marijuana and other evidence of drug trafficking.

At Bryant's home, officers found about eight pounds of marijuana and two handguns. One of the handguns was reported stolen in September from a home on Clark's River Road.

As officers were transporting Hixon to jail, he told officers he had more marijuana hidden in his underwear.

Hixon and Bryant were booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.

Officers say they seized a total of 8.25 pounds of marijuana with an estimated value of between $10,000 and $12,000.

Police say more charges are pending.
