Man facing DUI charges after wreck in McCracken County

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A Boaz, Kentucky man is facing DUI and other charges after a wreck in McCracken County, Kentucky.

Shortly before midnight on Dec. 5, the McCracken County sheriff's office investigated a single vehicle wreck at Husbands Road, just past the Clarkline Road intersection.

According to the sheriff's office, Brandon Stephens, 31, of Boaz, Kentucky, was driving fast south on Husbands Road.

Stephens drove through guard railing in the turn of Husbands Road just past the Clarkline intersection. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its side in a roadside ditch.

Stephens was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Due to possible non-life threatening injuries, he was taken to an area hospital.

After being released from the hospital, Stephens was taken into custody and to the McCracken County Regional Detention Center for the following charges:

Driving to fast for conditions, criminal mischief 1st degree, failure to wear seat belt and DUI aggravated 1st offense

The roadway was closed for about an hour.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department was assisted by Mercy Regional EMS and the Reidland Fire Department.
