EAST PRAIRIE, MO (KFVS) -

An East Prairie, Mo. man is facing felony charges after an investigation that began on Thursday, Dec. 4.

Paris Daunte Tipler, 27, was charged with receiving stolen property and violation of an order of protection.

His bond was set at $25,000.

According to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore, the investigation began when they were contacted by a Mississippi County resident who had received threatening text messages from Tipler.

The caller said that due to a full order of protection entered against him, Tipler was prohibited from communicating with her.

A short time later, Sheriff Moore said two deputies were sent to the caller's home after she reported that Tipler was outside.

When they arrived, deputies say they found Tipler and arrested him for violating the order of protection. He was then taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center.

Sheriff Moore said Tipler had allegedly sent the threatening text messages to the victim from a stolen cell phone.
