Illinois man accused of trying to buy food with fake cash

Police say a Carbondale, Illinois man is accused of trying to buy food will fake money.

Tumas J. Norwood, 18, faces charges of forgery and obstructing identification.

On Tuesday, Carbondale police received a report of a forgery complaint from a business in the 500 block of South Illinois Avenue.

Police learned Norwood tried to buy food with a counterfeit bill.

He was taken to the Jackson County Jail.

Police say the investigation is continuing.
