Police investigate suspicious death of Benton, IL man

WEST CITY, IL (KFVS) - Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a 27-year-old Benton man.

The body of Steven Keith Scott was found at the Magnuson Hotel at 711 West Main Street in West City, according to Franklin County Coroner Marty Leffler.

Franklin County Coroner's office along with the West City Police Department and Illinois State Police are investigating.

Someone called 911 at 8:38 p.m. about an unresponsive male. Authorities found Scott unresponsive with a family member performing CPR on him.

An autopsy is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Franklin Hospital Morgue in Benton.
