CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Police in Cape Girardeau are investigating after an armed robbery was reported on North Park Street Monday night.

According to Corporal Darin Hickey with Cape Girardeau Police, a call came in around 7:45 p.m. from a home in the 100 block of North Park.

Once on scene, officers talked to the caller who said he heard a knock at his door and when he asked who was there, a female answered. When the victim opened the door, a black male was there holding a gun.

The victim said there were two white females with the black male who forced the victim into his home. The black male then allegedly demanded money and hit the victim on the head. The victim didn't need any treatment, according to police.

One of the suspects then took a box of money and prescription medication from the victim and all three fled the scene on foot, according to Hickey.

The victim said he heard two gun shots as the suspects were leaving. Police say no damage or injury was found from those shots.

According to Hickey, the black male suspect was described as being tall with a thin build wearing a jacket and sock hat. One of the females was wearing a white jacket, but no other descriptions were given.

Corporal Hickey says there is no indication that the victim knew any of the suspects.

No one is in custody right now. Police ask that you call them at 573-335-6621 if you have any information.
