Escaped Marshall Co. inmate turns himself in

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Kentucky State Police are investigating after a Marshall County Jail inmate escaped from work detail around 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1 and then turned himself in the next day. 

According to KSP, Mitchell C. McDonald walked away from work detail at the Marshall County Detention Facility garage, where he was assigned to a work detail, at around 1 p.m.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department confirms McDonald turned himself in Tuesday morning and is now being held in the the Marshall County Detention Center.

There is no word on charges being filed as of right now.

McDonald is a state inmate serving his sentence at the Marshall County Detention Facility for possession of a gun by a convicted felon and a probation violation.

    Health officials plan to give updates Kentucky's Hepatitis A outbreak, including initiatives to slow it.

    In the midst of the largest hepatitis A outbreak in Kentucky's history, health officials are urging anyone who lives in a county where cases have been confirmed to get vaccinated.
