Murphysboro, IL man facing burglary charges


A Murphysboro, Illinois man has been arrested in connection with a report of a burglary on Nov. 28.

Dylan J. Moutria, 24, was charged with burglary and criminal damage to property.

According to the Murphysboro Police Department, around 1:29 p.m., they received a report of a burglary to B&B Guns and Ammo on N. 14th Street in Murphysboro.

Police say  an unknown suspect entered the business and removed property.

They used video surveillance to identify the suspect as Moutria.

On Nov. 29 around 8:57 p.m., police found Moutria in the 1500 block of Walnut Street. He was taken into custody and later taken to the Jackson County Jail.

Police executed a search warrant at Moutria's home on the northwest side of Murphysboro.

They say several items identified as stolen property were recovered from the home.

According to police, some of the items were identified as property taken in other recent burglaries in Murphysboro.

Police say more charges and additional arrests are pending.

The investigation is ongoing.
