Crews battle cotton gin trash fire near Malden

MALDEN, MO (KFVS) -

According to Malden Fire Department, crews responded to the Sandy Ridge Cotton Gin for a trash fire around 1 p.m. on Sunday. 

It is just north of town near Hwy 25.

A spokesperson for the Sandy Ridge Cotton Company says there were fire crews on the scene Sunday afternoon after the gin trash caught fire. 

No one has been injured, and there is apparently no damage inside the gin.

They expect to resume operations on Sunday night.

The company would like to express their thanks to the Malden Fire Department for their efforts.
