CARTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) - If you're traveling down Route 13 for the holidays in Southern Illinois, officials say it shouldn't be a problem.

Along that highway, two different construction plans have been going on: the Division Street project and the Wolf Creek project.

Officials say the Division street project began in the beginning of this year, and the Wolf Creek project started in July of 2014.

Resident Engineer, Dave Castens, says people who are going out of town shouldn't run into any problems.

“There shouldn't be any traffic delays during the holiday season,” Castens said. “There won't be any lane closures during the days. We've utilized nighttime construction in order to alleviate traffic congestion.”

Castens says these construction plans are multi-year projects. “The Division Street project is expected to finish next year,” he said. “The Wolf Creek project is expected to finish in late 2016, weather permitting.”
