Carbondale man sent to 'boot camp' after pleading guilty to heroin charges

A Carbondale, Illinois man has pleaded guilty charges stemming from heroin possession.

According to the Jackson Co. state's attorney, Jorrian Sutton, 20 of Carbondale, Illinois, was stopped by a Carbondale police officer for speeding. He reportedly had 24 individually packaged bags that contained over five grams of heroin.

The court recommended the Sutton be sent to a “boot camp” to complete a 120 to 180 day program.

If he successfully completes that program, he will be released.

Should he fail to successfully complete that program, he will serve the entire 8 year sentence.
