Illinois man dies after crash on US 45 in White Co.

WHITE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Illinois State Police say an Illinois man has died after a crash Wednesday morning in White County, Illinois.

It happened on US Route 45, just south of White County Road 550 North.

According to the preliminary state police traffic crash investigative details, Freeman Johnson, 72, of Norris City, Illinois, was southbound on US Route 45 when he suffered a suspected medical emergency.

Johnson's vehicle crossed the northbound lane of US Route 45 and continued to travel through a yard, before coming to rest in a driveway of a residence.

Johnson was taken from the crash scene by the White County Ambulance Service to an area hospital, where he died.

Both lanes of US Route 45 remained open during the crash investigation.

ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the White County Sheriff's Department, Norris City Police Department and White County Ambulance Service.
