Child advocate group raffles playhouses to support program

MARION, IL (KFVS) - A Williamson County group that advocates for abused and neglected children is raffling off several intricately detailed playhouses at the Illinois Centre Mall in Marion, Illinois to raise funds for the program. 

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Williamson County are raffling off six playhouses.

The playhouses were built and donated by students from six area high schools including Marion High School, Carterville High School, Crab Orchard High School, Johnston City High School, Carbondale High School, and Herrin High School.

The playhouses feature several themes including a camper, workshop, duck blind, fire house, 19th century wagon, and a submarine.

Director of CASA Jayme Frey Figueroa says she's overwhelmed by the community support.

“How incredible – because of playhouses we can put somebody to watch these kids, Figueroa said. "A lot of times they're the only ones that are there the entire time.”

This is the 21st year CASA has held the holiday program.

This is the groups largest fundraiser and helps support their more than $70,000 annual budget.

If you'd like to buy  a ticket for a chance to win one of the playhouses You can do so by heading to the Illinois Centre Mall during regular hours through December 21.
