Better Business Bureau wants smart shoppers this Black Friday

(KFVS) - The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is urging consumers to be intelligent shoppers this Black Friday.

Armed with information, a budget, and self-control the BBB believes you'll be able to better evaluate bargains to see if they're worth it.

"Some deals may look good, but quantities may be extremely limited or the size of the discount greatly exaggerated," says CEO Michelle L. Corey. She wants shoppers to know what is worth standing all night in line and missing a good night's sleep for.

These are some questions the BBB thinks you need to be asking yourself when shopping online:

  • What is the company's return or refund policy?
  • Does the website have a privacy policy and proper security?

Also, be cautious of free or very low-price offers and read all terms and conditions before purchasing something.

You may accidentally sign up for an open-ended enrollment program that automatically charges your account.

Don't rely on stock photos of the product you're buying. You need to also check the description and model numbers.

Another tip is to make sure there a tracking number for your shipments.

Arming yourself with the right information will make all the difference this Black Friday.
