Trooper injured in crash while responding to call of shots fired

PEMISCOT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says one of their troopers was involved in a crash on Highway 64 at Highway NN in Pemiscot County on Wednesday evening.

According to the highway patrol, Joshua B. Doyle, 26, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., was driving a 2014 Dodge Charger northbound around 6:07 p.m.

They say Doyle was responding to a call of shots fired and failed to negotiate a turn. He ran off the side of the road.

According to Cpl. Clark Parrott with the highway patrol, Doyle was responding to the officer involved shooting in Clarkton, Mo.

They highway patrol said Doyle was taken by ambulance to a Kennett, Mo. hospital with moderate injuries.

The estimated damage to the car is about $7,000.

The highway patrol said a stop sign and road sign were also damaged.
