PD: Several facing charges after breaking into W. KY Pawn

MAYFIELD, KY (KFVS) -

Several people face charges after a business was broken into in Mayfield, Kentucky.

According to Mayfield PD, around 3 a.m. on Nov. 18, Lt. Chris Watkins was responding to a call and as he approached 17th and Broadway when he saw a vehicle parked with its doors open. 

He saw three people coming out of West Kentucky Pawn Shop through a broken out front door window. 

The suspects fled on foot and the vehicle left the area in a hurry.

Officers from Mayfield, Graves County Sheriff's Office and Kentucky Fish and Wildlife assisted in the search of the suspects. 

Officers checked surveillance video and was able to obtain a better description of all the suspects in the burglary. 

Police say Lapeair L. Williams was found walking west on Highway 80. 

According to police, surveillance video showed him inside the store stealing jewelry and firearms. 

Bennie L. Britt and Darnisha Johnson were later found at Pocket's Store on Paris Road. 

Darnisha Johnson shoplifted a pair of gloves from the store. 

Three people were taken to the Mayfield Police Department for further investigation. 

Marcelo C. Giovanni the driver of the suspect vehicle was later stopped at 10th and Broadway, were he was arrested.

Lapeair L. Williams of Louisville was charged with burglary 1st degree and fleeing or evading police 1st degree (on foot).

Bennie L. Britt of Louisville was charged with burglary 1st degree and fleeing or evading police 1st degree (on foot).

Darnisha L. Johnson of Louisville was charged with burglary 1st degree. fleeing or evading police 1st degree (on foot) and TBUT /shoplifting (stealing black gloves from pockets). She was served a warrant from Jefferson County District Court for receiving stolen property.

Marcelo C. Giovanni of Louisville was charged with burglary 1st degree (complicity).
