Man leads authorities on high speed chase in KY, IL

MASSAC COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -
Kentucky and Illinois law enforcement were involved in a vehicle pursuit stemming from a domestic assault on Wednesday morning in McCracken County, Kentucky.
According to the sheriff's office, it began when deputies were dispatched to a domestic assault on Hollow Cove in Paducah, Kentucky.
Deputies learned Brian K. Mannon, 29, of Paducah was leaving the home in a car.
A McCracken County deputy saw Mannon pulling out of Happy Hollow Drive onto Husbands Road.
According to the McCracken County sheriff's office, Mannon refused to stop and drove outbound on Husbands Road.
Mannon continued on Husbands Road where he then turned right on to John L. Puryear Dr. and then onto I-24 West at Exit 11. Mannon still refused to stop, at some points reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour, according to the sheriff's office.
As Mannon approached Exit 3 on I-24 West,a deputy deployed spike strips and Mannon ran over the strips. Mannon then continued on I-24 West and proceeded over the I-24 bridge into Illinois.
Paducah-McCracken E-911 dispatchers coordinated with Massac County Illinois authorities to alert them of the incoming vehicle pursuit.
As McCracken County Deputies entered Illinois, Law Enforcement officials from the Massac County Sheriff's Department, Metropolis Police Department, and Illinois State Police were set up in a position to intercept Mannon and assist in the pursuit.
Just as Mannon entered Illinois and cleared the I-24 Bridge, Mannon tried to go around a tractor trailer that was in the road.
Mannon briefly lost control and a Massac County Sheriff's Department deputy tried to block Mannon from going any further. Mannon then changed directions and hit the deputy. Shortly thereafter, Mannon came to a stop. Mannon was then taken into custody.
The deputy was taken to Massac Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released for apparent non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers with the Illinois State Police are handling criminal and traffic charges stemming from the incident.
Those charges include, aggravated fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, operating on a suspended license, dui, failure to avoid a collision. more charges are possible following the conclusion of their investigation.
Charges are being sought for Mannon in Kentucky.
Those charges include: assault 4th domestic violence, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fleeing and evading 1st degree, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs/ alcohol 1st offense aggravating circumstances, and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license.
Mannon was booked into the Massac County Jail.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Massac County Sheriff's Department, Metropolis Police Department, Massac County Fire and Rescue, Massac County Ambulance Service, and the Paducah Police Department.
