Mississippi Co. inmate accused of grabbing female officer's arm

CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A Mississippi County inmate is charged with assaulting a corrections officer.

Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore says a corrections officer reported that an inmate grabbed her arm.

Inmate Jeremy Pearson is accused of reaching through a food port on his cell door and grabbing the arm of a corrections officer as she served meal trays. The corrections officer immediately pulled her arm away from Pearson and was not injured by the assault, according to the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office.

Jeremy Bradley Pearson, 34, of Sikeston is charged with assault of a corrections officer in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor punishable upon conviction by up to one year in the county jail.

Pearson remained behind bars with bond set at $1,500.
