Woman facing charges after car crashes into court house

BENTON, IL (KFVS) -

A Carrier Mills, Illinois woman is facing charges after a car crashed into a county court house.

Sheryl L. Berry, was charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence with a $1,000 cash bond.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, on Nov. 16 at 3:06 a.m., deputies and Benton police officers responded to a car crash.

Deputies say the driver, identified as Berry, said she lost control of her vehicle while entering the square, hitting the County Court House on the north side.

They say Berry's vehicle was majorly damaged and several bricks were dislodged from the court house.

The sheriff's office said the investigation revealed alcohol was a factor in the crash.
