61-year-old Elkville man sentenced to prison for burgalry

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

An Elkville, Illinois man was sentenced to prison for burglary and attempted burglary on November 13.

That's according to Michael C. Carr, Jackson County State's Attorney.

Willie L. Suggs, 61, of Elkville, Illinois was charged in Jackson County Circuit Court and was sentenced to serve 5 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on each case.

Suggs was accused of a burglary in the 100 block of West Monroe St. on July 2. He was also in the area on Aug. 14 trying to get in to vehicles.

During a police interview, Suggs admitted he committed the burglary on July 2.

This investigation was conducted by the Carbondale Police Department.

Assistant State's Attorney Casey Bloodworth prosecuted this case.
