MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The sheriff's office says two women were injured in a morning crash in McCracken County, Kentucky.

It happened shortly after 9:40 a.m. at the intersection of Mayfield Metropolis Road and US

An investigation showed Billie P. Allcock, 81, of Bardwell, Kentucky was driving westbound on US 62/Blandville Road when she collided with a car driven by Kristie E. Slusmeyer, 34, of Paducah, Kentucky.

The sheriff's office says that Slusmeyer was making a left hand turn onto Mayfield Metropolis Road when she was hit in the left rear of her vehicle by the other vehicle.

Both Allcock and Slusmeyer were taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department was assisted by Concord Fire and Mercy Regional.

The road was shut down for a short time for cleanup. It opened to one lane while the vehicles were being removed.
