Man flown to TN hospital after Graves County wreck

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon says a man had to flown to an Tennessee hospital after a crash in western Kentucky.

It happened shortly after 12:15 pm. On KY 80 West near Cash Road.

According to the sheriff, an investigation showed that Harry Wallace, 68 of Fancy Farm, was westbound on KY 80 West when his vehicle dropped off of the right side of the road. 

The vehicle hit an earth embankment and then overturned coming to rest on its roof.

Wallace was trapped in the vehicle and was freed by the Mayfield Fire Department and Mayfield/Graves County EMS.

Wallace was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center by EMS. He was later flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

No one else was injured in the crash as Wallace was the only person in the vehicle.

He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

Fancy Farm Fire and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.
