Man dies after crash on US 67 in Madison County

FREDERICKTOWN, MO (KFVS) -

A Fredericktown man has died after a crash in Madison County, Missouri on Saturday.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, it happened shortly after 3:15 p.m.on US 67 southbound.

Troopers say the GMC Sonoma driven by a 76-year-old Fredericktown woman traveled off left side of road at a curve.

The driver overcorrected and the vehicle ran off right side of the highway before hitting a highway sign.

The vehicle then caught fire.

A 76-year-old Fredericktown man, a passenger in the vehicle, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he later died.

Troopers say the occupants of the vehicle were not wearing a seatbelt at he time of the crash.
