CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) -

The Grand Avenue Seventh- Day Adventist Church honored their own veterans in Charleston, Missouri on Saturday.

Nearly 100 hundred people came out to support and give thanks to nearly a dozen veterans.

Each veteran stood up as they were highlighted of where they were stationed at, the accomplishments they had, and the family they were of.

Two Charleston veterans who didn't make it back from the Vietnam War were also highlighted, and their families were given a plaque to thank them for their service.

Veterans there said it is an honor to know that so many people throughout the community care so much about them.

A family member of a veteran who was killed in action says that her family always remembered what her brother-in-law did for them, and his country.

Her husband also fought, and that she said that Veterans Day is a time where family remember the sacrifices that were made, and how it has shaped their family for the better.
