SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - The Sikeston Humane Society says a dog taken from the shelter on Wednesday has been found.

Cody Mitchell with the Sikeston Humane Society says a couple apparently bought the dog from someone, and were unaware it had been stolen from the Humane Society.

Once they learned he was stolen, they called and went through an official adoption process.

Mitchell says they did not make them pay since they had already paid for him once.

They say the dog, six months to 1-year-old, was being housed outside of the shelter. He was not harmed.
