Pedestrian hit by car in Graves County, KY

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The Graves County, Kentucky sheriff's office responded to a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle on Thursday night.

According to Sheriff Dewayne Redmon, it happened Thursday around 11:20. on Macedonia Street near Longview Street.

An investigation showed Jermel Williams, 29 of Mayfield, Kentucky, was driving westbound on Macedonia Street and hit Steven Holmes, 27, of Hickory, Kentucky.

Holmes was walking westbound on Macedonia Street in the westbound lane.

The driver said that he did not see Holmes until he was hit.

Holmes was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center and then transferred to another hospital.

His condition is unknown at this time.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Mayfield Police Department, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, and the Graves County Rescue Squad.
