MARION, IL (KFVS) - The Hands of Hope foundation launches an Illinois state-wide campaign to raise resources and funds to fight Ebola in Liberia.

The campaign is called Operation Hope: Tour of Duty.

The foundation is doing a five stop tour around Illinois, hoping to raise enough money to send medical supplies overseas to Liberia to fight Ebola.

Hands of Hope will kick off the first night of events Thursday evening at the Community of Faith Church in Marion, Illinois.

Rev. Dr. Troy Benitone, Executive Director for the Hands of Hope, says the foundation has a close relationship with Liberia and wants to make sure they get what they need

"It's just like someone in Herrin having a problem, or someone in Marion having a problem,” Benitone said. “And so we're just working together from this side of the ocean to that side of the ocean to try and stop Ebola.”
