Paducah man charged with attempted rape

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A man who called police to report a robbery was arrested on a charge of attempted rape Tuesday morning.

A detective reported he was called to Baptist Health Paducah, where he spoke with Stacey L. Hood of Paducah. Hood said three men jumped him in the early morning hours Tuesday and robbed him of $500. He said his ear was cut during the robbery.

While interviewing Hood, the detective learned that a woman on Burnett Street, in the area where Hood said he was robbed, flagged down officers and told them a man she knew as “Detroit” had tried to rape her about 3:48 a.m. Tuesday. She said she pushed him off of her, and his ear was cut during the incident.

When questioned, Hood admitted he had been in the woman's home, but denied assaulting her.

Hood was arrested and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail on charges of first-degree attempted rape and falsely reporting an incident.
