Scott County man accused of sex crime involving minor

SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter says a Scott City area man has been charged with a sex crime involving a minor.

Todd Michael Kluesner, 41, of Scott City, Missouri has been charged with the attempted statutory sodomy in the first degree; attempted deviant sexual intercourse with another person under 14-years-old and assault in the third degree.

Sheriff Walter says shortly before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the sheriff's office assisted the Missouri Department of Social Services Children's Division to allegations of molestation.

According to the initial report, Kluesner had sexual contact with a victim under 14-years-old. The deputy believed probable cause existed to make an arrest in the case.

The sheriff's deputy drove to the Scott City home where Kluesner was taken into custody and later booked into the Scott County Jail pending the filing of formal charges.

According to the sheriff's office, a safe exam was scheduled at the Beacon Health Center for Wednesday, November 5.

After the exam was completed and further information was provided, formal charges were filed by Scott County Prosecutor Paul Boyd.

Bond was set by the court for Kluesner at $15,000 cash only.
