KSP: 2 injured in head on crash in western KY

CALDWELL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Kentucky State Police say two people were injured in wreck in western Kentucky.

It happened on KY 672, about 12 miles east of Princeton, Kentucky on Wednesday at 7:40 a.m.

The preliminary investigation showed that Audriana M. Coyazo, 17, of Dawson Springs, was driving southbound on KY 672. Henry L. Porter, 44, of Dawson Springs, was driving northbound on KY 672.

After the vehicles met in a sharp curve, Coyazo's vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and into the path of Porter's vehicle.

The vehicles collided head-on in the curve of the northbound lane.

Both vehicles came to rest in the northbound lane.

Coyazo, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken by ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment.

Porter, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken by ambulance to Baptist Health Madisonville for treatment.

KSP investigated the collision.

The Caldwell County Sheriff's Department, the Dawson Springs Police Department, Dawson Springs Rescue, and Caldwell County EMS assisted at the scene.
