3 injured in western KY crash

CRITTENDEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Several people were injured in a crash Tuesday in western Kentucky.

According to Kentucky State Police, it happened on US 60, about six miles west of Marion, Kentucky on Tuesday at 2:12 p.m.

The preliminary KSP investigation showed that James J. Lynch, 52, of Marion, Kentucky was driving westbound on US 60 when the vehicle left the right shoulder of the road.

Lynch overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. It crossed the centerline and exited the left side of the roadway. The vehicle hit a ditch and overturned. It came to rest off the roadway on its top.

Lynch, who was wearing a seatbelt, had to be extricated from the vehicle.

He was taken by ambulance to the Crittenden County Hospital. He was later transported via ambulance to Deaconess in Evansville, Indiana for treatment.

Two passengers were taken by ambulance to the Livingston Hospital. One was not wearing a seatbelt.

Trooper First Class Darron Holliman investigated the collision. The Crittenden County Sheriff's Department, the Crittenden County Fire Department, Crittenden County Rescue, Crittenden County EMS, Livingston County EMS, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet assisted at the scene.
