CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

A man is facing two counts of forgery after two incidents in early November in Carbondale, according to the Carbondale Police Department.

Police say 29-year-old Ronald E. Crump tried to pay with a counterfeit bill at a business in the 2300 block of Sweets Drive on Nov.1 . Officers were called to the scene but Crump left before the forgery was found.

An investigation revealed that Crump had passed a second counterfeit bill at a business in the 1300 block of East Main Street.

Police eventually caught up with Crump and charged him with two counts of forgery. He was taken to the Jackson County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
