6 arrested after officers find 'sophisticated marijuana grow operation' in Catron, MO

PEMISCOT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Six people were arrested recently after the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department says around 15 marijuana plants were found.

Erica D. Clement, 21, of New Madrid, was charged with one count of distribution/manufacturing of a controlled substance with intent and two counts of first degree endangering the welfare of a child. She is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $40,000 bond.

Nicholas Rhodes, 31, of New Madrid, was charged with two counts of distribution/manufacturing of a controlled substance with intent and one count of first degree endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $40,000 bond.

James McCain, 42, of Catron, was charged with one count of distribution/manufacturing of a controlled substance with intent. He is being held in the Pemsicot County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Angela McCain, 42, of Catron, was charged with one count of distribution/manufacturing of a controlled substance with intent. She is being in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Shanna Matkin, 25, of Piedmont, was charged with one count of distribution/manufacturing of a controlled substance with intent. She is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

Kenneth Steele, 21, of Piedmont, was charged with one count of distribution/manufacturing of a controlled substance with intent. He is being held in the Pemiscot County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

According to officers, the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department and New Madrid Police Department wrapped up a two-month, joint investigation on the evening of Nov. 2.

They say they wrapped it up with a search warrant in Catron with the help of the SEMO Drug Task Force.

Officers served the search warrant at a home and they say numerous people were detained.

During the search, officers say they found what appeared to be a sophisticated marijuana grow operation. They say about 15 marijuana plants, in various stages of growth, were found.

Six people were arrested and taken to the Pemiscot County Jail.
