ORAN, MO (KFVS) - The Scott County sheriff says an Oran area man was taken into custody for charges related to tampering.
Glen David Adams, 55, of Oran, Missouri has been charged felony tampering and trespass in the first degree.
According to Sheriff Rick Walter, sheriff's deputies responded to County Highway 250 on Saturday for a report of stealing.
The victim told deputies that Adams had stolen his John Deere 9400 combine from a storage facility on the property.
After a confrontation between the two, Adams returned the combine to the storage area, the victim told officers.
A deputy saw Adams walking south across a field toward his nearby home.
A deputy shouted to Adams, but he ignored the request and continued walking away, according to the sheriff's office.
Adams was taken into custody by the deputies. When asked why he stole the combine, Adams told officers that the complainant owed him money, according to the sheriff's office.
Adams was transported to the Scott County Jail.
Bond for Adams was set by the court at $500.00 cash only.
