POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) -

Poplar Bluff police say a sexual predator with violent tendencies, who was on the run, has been caught in St. Louis, Missouri.

According to the Poplar Bluff police chief, John L. Squires, 55, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, was captured at 11:30 p.m. Friday on Page Street in St. Louis.

Police Chief Danny Whitely says St. Louis County Police were dispatched to a disturbance call  Friday night on Page St.

As they were identifying people at this location, officers learned Squires had a nationwide extradition warrant with no bond.

Squires was taken to a jail in Clayton, Missouri.

Whitely says the Butler County Sheriff's Department will be transporting Squires back to Poplar Bluff on Saturday.

Squires had cut his electronic ankle bracelet and was supposed to be on supervised parole.

Chief Danny Whiteley says he is glad this violent sexual predator is back in custody, and is no longer an imminent threat to any families.

Whiteley says hopefully the man will never be outside of a prison for the rest of his life.
