A Metropolis, Illinois man is accused of taking more than $1,500 from a McCracken County business.
Blake Choate, 20, was charged with theft over $500 but under $10,000.
According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, on Oct. 29 around 6 p.m., Choate allegedly took money out of his cash register while employed with Rural King on Cairo Road.
They say later that day Choate took his lunch break, but didn't return to work.
Surveillance video was reviewed at the time and deputies say it showed Choate had taken the money.
On Friday, Oct. 31, deputies found Choate and learned that he still had some of the money with him.
They say they found and seized what was left.
Choate was arrested at that time.
Deputies say the investigation is ongoing and other charges are possible.
