Woman, child escape house fire in Dexter

DEXTER, MO (KFVS) - A fire heavily damaged a home in Dexter Thursday morning.

Dexter firefighters got the call at 10:15 a.m. for a fire at 712 West Elk Street.

Fire Chief Don Seymore says a woman and child got out of the home safely.

The home was heavily damaged.

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire. It is not considered suspicious.
