17-year-old killed in crash in St. Francois County

ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A 17-year-old has died after a crash Saturday night in St. Francois County, Missouri.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol Troop C, the deadly crash happened shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday on Highway F, just east of Laws Road.

Police say the 17-year-old driver lost control on a curve in the road.

The Chevrolet truck then went off the road, hit a Chevron sign and a concrete culvert, before hitting a small tree.

The vehicle overturned and hit another tree.

The 17-year-old driver from Bonne Terre, Missouri died at the scene.

Police say he wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
