PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

The sheriff's office says a dump truck crashed into a car in McCracken County, Kentucky on Friday.

It happened shortly after 11 a.m. in the 1400 block of Krebb Station Road.

According to the sheriff's office, Alice Penrod, 54, of Paducah was driving her car westbound on Kreb Station and was in the process of turning into a driveway.

That's when she was struck in the rear by a dump truck driven by Charles Finwell, 52, of Paducah.

Finwell told officers that as he crested a blind hill, he saw Penrod slowing to turn into a driveway and realized he wasn't going to be able to stop in time.

The dump truck driver drove into the ditch alongside Penrod to try to avoid a collision.

The back tires of the dump truck drove up and onto the trunk of the car.

Penrod was transported to an area hospital for possible injuries.

Kreb Station Road was closed for around two hours for cleanup and investigation.

Deputies were assisted on scene by Hendron Fire, Mercy Regional EMS, Hartmans Towing and Meadows Towing.
