Stained glass artwork to be unveiled at Kent Library's celebration

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Southeast Missouri State's Kent Library is presenting 45 pieces of stained glass by artist G. Owen Bonawit.

Tours will be offered of the Rare Book Room to celebrate its 75th anniversary from 6-9 p.m. on Nov. 7.

According to the university, the 75-year-old works of art have been taken out of storage and re-mounted to commemorate their installation and the 75th anniversary of the dedication of Kent Library.

Admission is $40 per person or $75 per couple, with proceeds going to help offset the cost of re-installing the valuable stained glass panels.

With admission will be hors d'oeuvres, an anniversary cake and tours of the Rare Book Room.

Three Southeast professors emeriti will share recollections of longtime librarian Sadie Kent, and Kent Library's impact on the University and community after 75 years. A cash bar will be available.
