Paducah area businesses recognized for work with disabilities


In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) recognized 18 Paducah, Kentucky area employers and service providers.

The businesses were recognized during the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce Business Education Partnership (BEP) meeting held on October 23.

According to a news release the recognition for cooperation and teamwork was the focus during the Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation's Job Placement Month event.

Several vendors were awarded certificates of appreciation for providing outstanding service to KY OVR's consumers as those individuals prepare for the workforce.

Businesses who have utilized referrals when filling job openings were also awarded certificates of appreciation.

Their hiring practices have made a direct impact on the lives of Kentuckians with disabilities, according to the Chamber.

Cindy Ragland and Megan Grubbs, Job Placement Specialists with the Kentucky Career Center, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, presented the certificates to the following businesses/providers:
