TN man injured after log truck crash in Calloway County

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A Tennessee man was injured after his log truck crashed Thursday in Calloway County, Kentucky.

According to Kentucky State Police, around 12:10 pm, Dusty Carter, 32, of Lexington, Tennessee was traveling north on U.S. Highway 641 South.

According to the transportation cabinet, it happened between Murray and Hazel, Kentucky between the three and four mile markers.

State police say Carter was driving an International tractor trailer hauling logs.

The back wheel of the trailer dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway causing him to lose control, spilling the logs onto the road.

Carter was thrown from the semi and taken to the Murray Calloway County Hospital for treatment of injuries.

The road was shut down for approximately four hours allowing for investigation of the accident and clean up of the logs.

The Calloway County Sheriff's Office was assisted by, the Calloway County Fire and Rescue, the Murray Fire Department, the Murray Calloway County Ambulance Service, Hazel Fire Department and two Puryear Tennessee Volunteer Firefighters.
