Fire crews respond to Murphysboro house fire

Two people were in the home. Four people from a neighboring business had to drag one person out of the home. Two people were in the home. Four people from a neighboring business had to drag one person out of the home.
MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - Four people helped rescue two people from a burning home in Murphysboro.

It happened at 402 North Street just after 8 a.m. Thursday.

Two people were in the home. Four people from a neighboring business had to drag one person out of the home.

The fire started in back half of the house.

Both people who were in the house went to the hospital. Two people who helped rescue the people also went to the hospital as a precautionary measure. No one burned.

The fire was contained. The house sustained significant damage.

The family is in the process of moving so they were on the main floor when the fire happened.
