Du Quoin man accused in Carbondale business robbery

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Police say a Du Quoin, Illinois man is accused in a business robbery.

Christopher Westberry, from Du Quoin, was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and he was booked into the Jackson County Jail.

On Oct. 20 around 11:15 p.m., officers with the Carbondale Police Department responded to the 100 block of North Giant City Road to a reported robbery of a business.

Officers say the suspect entered Casey's convenience store and approached an employee at the front counter.

The suspect inferred he had a firearm and demanded money from the clerk.

The clerk complied with the suspect, who then stole the money before fleeing southbound from the store on foot.
