Look inside Marion's new $65 million high school under construction

MARION, IL (KFVS) - For the first time in three years the Heartland News team got an inside look at the New Marion High School which is currently under construction.

It's a $65 million and more than 100,000 square foot facility.

It will house state-of-the-art class rooms and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics labs.

The Marion School District Superintendent Keith Oats said he's excited for the new facility.

"We've tried to build for the future," Oats said. "It's just exciting that we've been able to provide this for the community of Marion and for our students especially."

On average 1,200 students enroll at Marion High School, Oats said.

It will also be home to two gymnasium's, including a dance and ballet studio.

The project is expected to be completed by 2016.
