IL hospital begins screening people for Influenza, Ebola

WASHINGTON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The Washington County Hospital in Illinois started doing screenings on Tuesday for people that come through their doors, according to Candice Hawley, hospital chief nurse executive.

She said three of the five hospital door entrances have been locked so they can funnel people through only two doors.

Once a person comes in, hospital staff screens that person for Influenza and Ebola Hemorrhage Fever. The staff will take the visitors' temperatures and ask them a series of questions, including if they or anyone they know have traveled outside of the country.

Hawley said the hospital started this screening process on Tuesday, Oct. 21 and will continue it until further notice.

She said they decided to up their efforts and use more precaution since the CDC came out with new guidelines on Monday night.
